LYRICAL/CONTEMPORARY

Lyrical/Contemporary Classes
Lyrical dance is a dance style that embodies various aspects of ballet, jazz, acrobatics, and modern dance. Lyrical dance is associated with clearly displayed emotional moods, fast-moving choreographic strategies, illustration of song lyrics, and, in group form, exact unison. The style is usually danced at a faster pace than ballet but not as fast as jazz.

ACRO

Acro Classes
Acro dance is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements. It is defined by its athletic character, its unique choreography, which seamlessly blends dance and acrobatics, and its use of acrobatics in a dance context.
Acrobatics (from Greek Akros, high and bat, walking) involve movements that are a combination of difficult feats of balance, agility and coordination.

All Acro classes will perform in the year end Recital in June.
MUSICAL THEATRE

Musical Theatre Classes
Musical theatre is a form of theatrical performance that combines songs, spoken dialogue, acting and dance. The story and emotional content of a musical – humor, love, anger – are communicated through words, music, movement and technical aspects of the entertainment as an integrated whole. In class we play drama games and learn routines while lip singing to songs.
